Guided Meditation For Self-Compassion

Today is World Kindness Day, and I’m using it as a reminder that kindness begins at home, as in with myself.

I recently caught myself indulging in negative self-talk – never enough done, work isn’t good enough, I should have seen that problem coming before it happened, etc….

I’m sure many of you can relate.

The problem with this mindset is that it breeds an unproductive kind of stress and dis-ease within myself.

And I realize it is absolutely NOT OKAY to talk to myself in a way I would never do to another being.

So I switched my self-talk to a more positive one and the results have been shocking.

Instead of counting the things I didn’t get to, I list out what I DID do. Instead of berating myself for not doing something well enough, I give myself credit for trying and make a note to make a subtle tweak next time.

I also started doing a self-compassion meditation, and today I’m sharing it with you.

I’m amazed at how much happier, healthier, AND more productive I am. I also noticed that my feelings of kindness towards others are more freely given and pure when I am first kind to myself.

I hope it has the same effect on you.
